The increasingly demanding request for reducing polluting emissions and the growing demand for safety and comfort systems has lead to a rise in the number of electronic control units fitted on a vehicle. In addition to the engine control unit, now there are also systems similar to the car ones (body computer, dashboard, light management, automatic transmission, airbag, tpms, air conditioning system, etc.) to be added to those systems which are essential for a truck but not for a car (suspensions, retarder, heater, ad-blue, tachograph, etc.). It is clear that there is a need for complete diagnostic tools which enable to operate at 360° on the entire electronics of the vehicle.
However, there are workshops that service trucks practically only for main tenance or small repairs. For them, Tecnomotor has designed a specific tool capable of meeting these needs.

Engine diagnosis

  • Read and delete error codes
  • Read the technical parameters of the engine which are necessary for a correct diagnosis, which go from the typical ârpmâ,
  • âtemperatureâ, âlambda sensorsâ, âaccelerator pedal positionâ, âmeasured air flowâ, âcylinder correctionâ values and âvalve opening timeâ, up to the most recent parameters introduced for controlling emissions such as âNox temperature sensorâ, etc.
  • Display the engine conditions, such as immobilizer state, clutch and brake pedal position, inhibition state, terminal +15 and +30 condition, etc.
  • Enable parts such as fans, injectors, pump relays, pre-heating relays, etc.
  • Disable the cylinders.
  • Code replaced parts such as injectors.

ABS/EBS diagnosis:

  • Read and delete error codes.
  • Read the technical parameters which are necessary for a correct diagnosis: âwheel speedâ, âsteering angleâ, âyaw angleâ, âlateral accelerationâ, âbrake pedal pressureâ, âac- celerator pedalâ, âtyre rolling circumferenceâ, âbraking pressure on different axlesâ, etc.
  • Display the conditions such as steering angle setting, pump relays, brake switch state, etc.
  • Enable the different solenoid valves, the brake transducer, etc..


  • Read and delete error codes.
  • Read the technical parameters: suspension system circuit infeed pressure, nominal and actual levels of the axles, axle adjustment levels, etc.
  • Check the condition of the suspension remote control, level sensor state, axle solenoid valve condition, etc.
  • Enable the central drive axles and left and right drive axles, bleed valves, etc.
  • Adjust the suspension level.

Body Computer /Dashboard Diagnosis

  • Read and delete error codes
  • Read the parameters: km/dd from the next service coupon, fuel level, number of keys/remote controls programmed, last key/remote control used, external temperature, environment brightness, display brightness, vehicle speed, etc.
  • Display the conditions of: connected control units, dashboard push buttons, programmed keys/remote controls, lights and lamps, etc.
  • Enable warning lights, dashboard analog indicators and display, beeper, etc.
  • Code new keys and remote controls.
  • Set km/dd for the next service coupon.
  • Set the km of the brake maintenance service for various axles, coolant, etc.

Other control units:

Recently new increasingly sophisticated systems have been fitted on the vehicle. In particular it is worth mentioning:

  • Retarder: driving aid braking system which allows to save up to 50% of the disc consumption. The diagnosis enables to read/delete errors and read technical parameters, such as the nominal and actual braking torque, retarder fluid and coolant temperature, etc.
  • Tachograph: system for measuring the time/km driven, compulsory by law. The diagnosis enables to read/delete errors and read technical parameters, such as tyre size setting, stop time, driving time, the ratio, etc.
  • Infotaintarteiment: from the simple after-market fitted radio, we have passed to highly sophisticated information and entertainment systems, such as GPS, cd/dvd reproduction, hi-tech hi-fi systems, MP3 readers, bluetooth connection with mobile phones. Test equipment shall connect to these systems in order to set them up and repair them if necessary.
  • Tyre pressure control: checking the tyre electronically is surely one of the challenges of the future. As a matter of fact beside the âmechanicalâ technical progress of tyres and wheel rims of the last years, for the time being there is not yet any active safety system for the tyre. The first step in this direction are the pressure sensors fitted inside the tyre which monitor in real time its pressure. For diagnosing this system it is necessary to visualize the pressure and temperature data measured by the sensors, programming the replaced sensors, enable the transmission antennas, etc.
  • Light management: the introduction of Xenon lights and directional lights has turned the management of a simple light bulb into a complex system in which, through diagnosis, it is possible to check the absorbed power, check the light emission for different vehicle speed rates, enable the light motion, etc.
  • Management of central locking system, window lifter, lights and seats: all the actuators fitted inside the vehicle are controlled by an electronic control unit, which enables to make a diagnosis of the component, enable the motion or the starting, check the state of the control for starting/ moving these devices, adjusting if necessary due to the replacement of some part, etc.

The software includes technical information referring to maintenance plan and data for performing them:

  • Type and quantity of fluid to be used for engine, brakes, etc.
  • Type and quantity of freon and fluid to be used for the A/C system.
  • Battery type.
  • Brake thickness.
